The written heritage of Montecassino is an extraordinary record of European cultural history. The MeMo – Memory of Montecassino project promotes its study, cataloguing, digitisation and wider appreciation by combining specialist research with open and accessible digital resources.
The International Advisory Board supports the project by providing scholarly advice and opportunities for scientific exchange. It brings together scholars and representatives of institutions active in palaeography, codicology, book history, archival studies, cataloguing and the digital enhancement of cultural heritage.
The breadth of expertise represented within the Board enables MeMo to engage with methods and experience developed in different national and international contexts. The Board helps inform the project’s principal scholarly and methodological choices while fostering dialogue with libraries, archives, universities, research centres and digital infrastructures.
This network of collaboration strengthens MeMo’s international dimension and supports its development as an open, interoperable and continually evolving research environment. At the same time, it provides the participating institutions with a shared forum for reflection on the description, preservation, accessibility and transmission of manuscript and documentary heritage.
